DC Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy was founded in 1999 in Washington, DC. Its mission is to improve life and health for adolescents by cutting the teen pregnancy rate in half and being a strong and effective advocate for DC adolescents.

DC Campaign To Prevent Teen Pregnancy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in April 1999 as a result of the work of the Mayor’s Committee on Reducing Teenage Pregnancies and Out-of-Wedlock Births. The mission of DC Campaign is to improve the lives and well being of adolescents in Washington, DC by reducing the teen pregnancy rate to 32.2 per 1,000 girls, 15-19 by 2015. Reducing teen pregnancy still remains a critical, high leverage intervention that can expand opportunities for every young person. It is far more effective, and far less costly, than after the fact efforts to deal with developmental disabilities, child abuse, school failure and poverty.
